Functions of Invigilators

  1. The invigilators are required to be present in the examination cell at least 20 minutes before the commencement of examination.
  2. The invigilators are required to make sure that they have received number of main booklets and question papers as per the seating plan provided, before leaving the examination cell.
  3. The code books / data books and other books necessary for the examination will be sent to the examination halls. The invigilators are required to count and return the same at the end of the examination.
  4. One of the invigilators is required to check the Identity cards before a candidate enters the examination hall. No candidate shall be allowed to enter the examination hall without Identity card or permission from the Convener, Internal Examinations.
  5. The invigilators must instruct the students not to keep any printed or written material or mobile phones or wrist watches or any other electronic devices except scientific calculator with them, which leads to malpractice. The students must be asked to hand over their purses / pouches etc., (except money) and not to exchange calculators, scales, pencils, erasers, sharpeners etc.,
  6. The invigilators should not to allow the candidates into the examination hall after the long bell for commencement of examination is given.
  7. One of the invigilators is required to distribute and collect the answer scripts personally.
  8. The invigilators are required to be attentive in examination hall to prevent malpractices. Malpractice cases, if any, should be immediately brought to the notice of Convener.
  9. The invigilators are advised to maintain silence in the examination hall so as to provide conducive environment for the smooth conduct of examination.
  10. Assignment questions should be announced one hour before the scheduled closing time of the examination.
  11. The invigilators should not allow the candidates to leave the examination hall before the last fifteen minutes from the scheduled time of completion of examination.
  12. No invigilator shall leave the examination hall except for nature call, intimating the same to his co-invigilators. Invigilators are expected not to use mobile phones.
  13. The invigilators are required to hand over the answer scripts after the completion of examination in the examination cell.
  14. The invigilators are required to strictly follow the college bell for the conduct of the examination. The bell rings at the following times.

Warning Bell (Short Bell): 20 minutes before the commencement of examination

Long Bell-I: At the commencement of the examination

Long Bell-II: At the End of examination

Instructions to the Students in the Examinations

Once a candidate enters the examination hall, they are governed by the examination rules and will not be permitted to leave the examination hall until the end of the specified time.

  • Candidates are advised to present in the Examination Hall half an hour before the commencement of the examination.
  • Candidates are prohibited from writing their register number (except on the front page) or name on any part of the answer booklet.
  • Candidates should carry their hall ticket and Photo ID Card to the examination hall.
  • Candidates have to verify whether the correct question paper is received from the invigilator before starting the examination.
  • Strict silence should be maintained in the examination hall.
  • The responsibility of handing over the answer script to the invigilator lies with the candidate only.
  • Candidates should not allow or assist anyone to copy from them. Observers and Flying Squad members are empowered to check any candidate in the examination hall or outside during the examination for detecting any malpractice.
  • Candidates are prohibited from bringing cell phones, watches, books, notebooks, wallets, or any written material and electronic gadgets other than a simple scientific calculator to the examination hall.
  • Candidates are prohibited from bringing their own mathematical tables, data tables, etc., to the examination hall.
  • Candidates should not write anything on the question paper except their register number and should ensure that they don’t have any write-ups on their body or garments.
  • Candidates are prohibited from exchanging calculators, scales, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners, etc
